It made <a href=\"https:\/\/r1---sn-q4f7dnzz.googlevideo.com\/videoplayback?requiressl=yes&amp;mime=video%2Fmp4&amp;ipbits=0&amp;ratebypass=yes&amp;expire=1428902656&amp;fexp=900720%2C907263%2C932627%2C932631%2C934954%2C9406708%2C9406772%2C9406922%2C9407433%2C9408347%2C9408707%2C9408919%2C947243%2C948124%2C948703%2C951703%2C952612%2C957201%2C961404%2C961406&amp;upn=G6xwpFM7Z-Q&amp;itag=22&amp;ip=68.170.218.88&amp;key=yt5&amp;signature=EBD5E155477FA0332B712C5705ED943171BCCFF6.D2DDC72D465083BFA832DCD034197EBF707FA5AB&amp;mm=31&amp;sparams=dur%2Cid%2Cinitcwndbps%2Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag%2Cmime%2Cmm%2Cms%2Cmv%2Cpl%2Cratebypass%2Crequiressl%2Csource%2Cupn%2Cexpire&amp;id=o-AK_IMPjiU8aIKG-nz8prA3q6rk0ukJpqI86-jDGF5vjg&amp;ms=au&amp;mt=1428880938&amp;mv=m&amp;dur=1412.980&amp;sver=3&amp;source=youtube&amp;pl=20&amp;initcwndbps=357500&amp;title=LiquorHound%27s+Top+10+Bourbons+Under+%2430%20%5B720p%5D\" target=\"_blank\">LiquorHound&#8217;s list of 10 best bourbons under $30<\/a> and it&#8217;s easy to see why.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parker&#8217;s Heritage Collection #7, Promise of Hope:<\/strong>\u00a0 A very solid and interesting bourbon, but nothing stellar. \u00a0I don&#8217;t think that this one is worth the effort of seeking out (and it&#8217;s very rare).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rittenhouse 25 Year Rye:<\/strong> \u00a0This is by far the oldest rye that I&#8217;ve ever tasted and I&#8217;m quite certain that I&#8217;ll never find or be able to afford a bottle, so it was quite exciting to get a sample. \u00a0A very minty profile for sure, with good woody flavor, mild burn (50% ABV) and a nice balance of vanilla and caramel as well. \u00a0It doesn&#8217;t have the fruit flavors that I favor in a rye, but neither does Rittenhouse 100 Bottled-in-Bond, so this must be the profile of their whiskey. \u00a0It&#8217;s a very solid and well executed aged rye whiskey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jefferson 21 Year Rye:<\/strong> \u00a0Another heavy hitter, this time with much less mint and much less bold. \u00a0This is an easy drink with good complexity and I enjoyed it a lot while watching the fountains in the pool from the back porch. \u00a0There&#8217;s not a lot of wood as you might expect from the age and it&#8217;s nicely balanced and mildly complex. \u00a0I&#8217;d like to spend more time getting to know this one&#8230; especially by the pool.<\/p>\n<p>My contributions for the gathering were: Smooth Ambler Old Scout 8 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon (55.7% ABV), Stagg Jr. Batch #3, Old Forrester Birthday Bourbon 2010, StraightBourbon Blend (60% Old Weller Antique and 40% Weller 12 Year), Copper Fox Rye and Four Roses 9 Year &amp;
