A briefly sweet and bright flavor followed by grass, straw, honey, then becoming tannic and astringent. \u00a0The finish is leathery, spicy and woody. \u00a0Water lessens the astringent quality<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">(only took a drop)<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0and brings out more of the sweet flavors to produce more balance, while notes of lemon and pear appear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Spring 2013<\/strong> &#8211; Similar sweet nose with a hint of menthol and pecans. \u00a0Also, a similar flavor profile, but less astringent and the finish is less bitter\/tannic. \u00a0Water produces a nuttier and spicier profile, but the balance isn&#8217;t maintained and the finish has more burn, bitterness and a less leathery mouthfeel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Fall 2013<\/strong> &#8211; Another great, sweet nose with more menthol. \u00a0The sweetness is more subdued compared to the Fall 2012 release with less bitterness and more spice (but less of the latter than the Spring release). \u00a0This one has a nicely balanced finish.
